Continuing Medical Education (CME) Information

The ACSis accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

The ACSwill offer AMA PRA Category 1 Credits鈩� for this educational activity. 

Certificate of Completion

Attendees can claim a Certificate of Completion for their participation in the 2026 ACSSurgical Simulation Summit. Hours will be awarded to attendees based on the extent of their participation in the activity. Many credentialing boards for healthcare professionals will accept a Certificate of Completion for conversion of hours to the specific type of credit required.

Accreditation

The ACSis accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™

The ACSdesignates this live activity for a maximum of 14.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits鈩�. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Of the AMA PRA Category 1 Credits鈩� listed above, a maximum of 14.25聽hours meet the requirements for Patient Safety.*

CME Credit Claiming

  • Claims for CME credit for this event will be accepted upon completion of the Surgical Simulation Summit Global Evaluation.
  • CME Credit claiming closes on April 13, 2026, at 4:00 pm CT.

Residents and allied health professionals are eligible for a Certificate of Completion.

Program Objectives

At the end of this educational activity, participants will be able to:

  • Apply new knowledge and ideas to improve the simulation-based surgical education and training provided to learners at their institutions
  • Implement innovative teaching techniques at their institutions
  • Discuss and apply the most recent research advancements in the field of simulation education
  • Examine how surgeons, anesthesiologists, and members of the quality, safety, and risk management departments can work together to improve quality and safety at their institutes using simulation
