Register for ACSCommon Bile Duct Exploration Course in Los Angeles

Register today for the , featuring recorded didactic lectures and a hands-on skills lab. The course will be held 1:00–5:15 pm PT on Thursday, February 12, at the University of California, Los Angeles Center for Advanced Surgical Interventional Technology, an ACSAccredited Education Institute.

This hybrid course will review the indications for, and technical steps needed, to perform a laparoscopic choledochotomy or transcystic duct common bile duct exploration. Course attendees will participate in techniques involving fluorescent cholangiography, performing an intraoperative cholangiogram and interpretation, choledochoscopy, and biliary calculus extraction. The course chair is Raul Rosenthal, MD, FÅ˽ðÁ«´«Ã½Ó³»­.

At the conclusion of this course, learners will be able to:

  • Describe the benefits of a one-stage approach in the management of choledocholithiasis
  • Interpret common findings seen on intraoperative cholangiogram
  • Identify essential equipment required to perform a fluorescent cholangiogram, as well as an intraoperative cholangiogram and common bile duct exploration
  • Describe the steps required to perform common bile duct exploration (choledochotomy, transcystic, choledochoscopy)
  • Become familiar with the management of complications during and after CBDE
